For the Early Risers Who Ride Hard, Eat Well, and Get After It
What This Is About
4/20/20252 min read

Woke up just after dawn. Caught a couple lefts on a quiet break. Came home starving and threw together the kind of breakfast that hits better when your hair’s still salty and you still got that chill from the water. That’s the feel here.
Dawn Patrol Chef is where early mornings, solid surf, good food, and cold beers collide.
This blog is for people who live for that rhythm—folks who chase the breaks, cook with fire, crack open something cold, and feed the people they love.
If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.
Why Do This
I’ve worn a lot of hats—worked in markets, built control panels, led in ministry. I’ve faced burnout, depression, financial setbacks, and some heavy life chapters. But through all of that, cooking, coastal living, and family have always been there. They’ve been the things that grounded me. Gave me joy. Gave me a sense of perspective and purpose.
I’m not a classically trained chef or anything. Nor do I claim to be one. I don’t care much about molecular gastronomy or five-star plating, as cool and impressive as those things are.
I care about flavor, heat, simplicity, and connection. I care about throwing down a meal after a session in the water. About sharing a frosty beer and fresh-made food with people I love. About taking life one bite, one wave, one small win at a time.
So this blog isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about living hungry, cooking honestly, and leaning into the good stuff life gives us—even if you have to fight for it.
